Access Family Day @ UK-H

The staff and students of the School of Access hosted Family Day December 10th. This was an opportunity for the students’ family and friends to come and see the University and get to know their instructors and the campus better.

The event began with a slide presentation in the auditorium before the Vice Chancellor, Professor Serwan Baban, spoke on education and the University’s role in advancing education in the Kurdistan Region. This was followed by a welcome address to everyone given by the Chair, Dr. Robert K. Doebler.

The students then spent the rest of the afternoon showing their guests the campus, competing in a quiz game, watching videos of their instructors, and enjoying the party atmosphere.

Toward the end of the afternoon, prizes were given out for the best poster, winner of the quiz competition, and through a general drawing.

Access hopes to make Family Day an annual event so students’ families can connect to UKH and so students can show off the University and the progress they have made in just a few weeks.
