Mission |
|
The
Department of Political Science aims to educate students in the
study of governance and develop critical thinking skills through
analyzing different kinds of governments across the world, as well
as regional governments. Students are encouraged to assess different
political systems and think of how to apply best practices to their
own region. |
|
Introduction |
|
The
Bachelors program in the Department of Political Science is a three
year British style program. In the first two years students take a
variety of required courses which are geared towards providing
students of politics with a broad understanding of the basic
principles of politics. The courses include political theory,
international relations, comparative politics, research methodology,
as well as courses on Middle Eastern politics. In their third year
students are required to write a thesis and are allowed to choose
courses from a number of electives so they have the opportunity to
pursue areas that are of interest to them. |

Why choose this
department? |
|
A major
in political science is a good choice for students wishing to pursue
careers in government such as working in their foreign ministry,
working on domestic policy issues or working on political campaigns.
It is also compatible for careers with NGOs, international
organizations, journalism and jobs requiring analytical thinking.
